Address: Pac Ma village
Introduce
Pac Ma banyan tree is one of the prominent natural symbols of Son La, closely associated with the history, culture and life of local people, especially in Muong Gion commune. The banyan tree is not only a natural heritage but also contains precious spiritual and historical values.
67 years ago, the Pac Ma banyan tree in Pac Ma village, Muong Gion commune, was a tree that grew naturally about 300m from inter-provincial road 171 on a hill. During the resistance war against French colonialism, the banyan tree was a testament to the victory of our army in the Northwest campaign in 1952, and local people often called it Pac Ma banyan tree. Currently, the banyan tree still grows tall and full of life on the hill, surrounded by the immense rivers and waters of the Son La hydroelectric reservoir (in Muong Gion commune). On February 28, 2007, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Son La province approved the historical relic according to Decision No. 462/QD-UBND.
